Doctoral Student Job Search
A doctoral student job search will differ from a master's student since the researches are more advanced and detailed. The support and guidance currently offered in the Career Service Department is mainly targeted at master's students. Yet, there are many services available to doctoral students as well. Please directly ask the Career Service Department for details.
Job Search GeneralThere are many different ways for doctorial students to seek employment: Applying through the Career Service Department for its posted jobs is the same for master's students; There is the way of being introduced by your advisors while you can take advantage of the way of using public information. Moreover, the recruitment method varies in companies. While some companies use the same process of recruiting doctoral students as master's students, other companies use more individually based process providing an interview after reviewing your research paper and resume which show your detail research area.
There is a large possibility of difference in recruitment numbers, time and methods between doctorial students and master's students. Please contact by phone or email if you have any companies of interest.
It is also recommended that you consult with your advisors regarding your employment since they may have received a request by a company to introduce people in the same field of research.
As mentioned above, the job seeking period and the selection process will differ with each company, but generally speaking, there are many companies which recruit doctoral students as well as master's students from the winter through spring of the previous fiscal year of their graduation. It is recommended to check company information frequently.
