  Access to JAIST

  From JR Kanazawa Station

  Take the local train from JR Kanazawa Station and get off at the next stop, JR Nishi-Kanazawa Station (the special express does not stop here). Walk to the left from that station to Hokuriku Railroad, Ishikawa Line Shin-Nishi-Kanazawa Station. Take the Ishikawa Line to Tsurugi Station. The JAIST shuttle bus will take you to the university.

  From central Kanazawa (by train)

  From the Hokuriku Railroad, Ishikawa Line Nomachi Station (about a 15-minute walk from Korinbo along Route 157 heading toward Arimatsu; turn right at the Nomachi 3-chome intersection, down a gradual slope), take the Ishikawa Line to Tsurugi Station (the fare from Nomachi to Tsurugi is 460 yen). Then take the JAIST shuttle bus to the university (see above).

  We operate the JAIST Shuttle Service free of charge based on reservations to provide transportation in order to connect JAIST and JR Komatsu Station/ Komatsu Airport.

  As for using the JAIST Shuttle Service, it is described as below.

  For Visitors:

  If visitors use the Shuttle, the reservations should be arranged for them through the JAIST faculty or the departments with whom they are visiting. Please refer to the timetables for JAIST Shuttle posted below:

  The trip from Komatsu Airport to JAIST by taxi takes 30 minutes at a cost of ¥ 6,000. The trip from Komatsu JR Station to JAIST by taxi takes 25 minutes at a cost of ¥ 5,000. (The time and cost are approximate estimates.)
